BIG STORE OPENINGS!

This month two of our most anticipated anchor stores have officially opened with a bang!  TARGET & MARSHALLS!  And this is no April Fool’s Joke 😊.   Target is located at the old Kmart in Kill Devil Hills and Marshalls is at the Marketplace in Southern Shores.  If you happen to be heading to Marshalls, our office is a few doors down, Keller Williams OBX.  If we are not out showing property, we are usually in the office. Please stop in and say hi!  We love to catch up with our clients.

CLIENT SHOUT OUT "KIM MCKEE"

I had the pleasure of selling one of my past buyer’s home this week.  Kim & Don were so excited to move to the OBX and very excited when they found a home that was perfect for them.  Their home was built in 2018, had 3 bedrooms/2baths and was located on a quiet street.  Over the few years they owned the home, they painted all the trim white, added a storage room, and decorated the home beautifully.  I knew their home would go in a day!  And it did.  While initially previewing the home, I notice Kim had her dining room table filled with seashells and craft materials. Come to find out, Kim is full of talent!  She beautifully customizes shells she finds on the beach throughout the year.  Yes, you may find her out there during a Northeaster.  She sells these gorgeous shells on Instagram (she needs an Etsy page).   Please check out her work!   What nice gifts and tokens of appreciation they make.

OBX BIKE WEEK

Week of April 24, 2023 - April 30, 2023

This week never disappoints!  Yes, it may be a little loud on the road, but this group is full of cheer, charitable spirit & good old fashion fun.   Here’s their schedule of events…. It promises to be great fun!

APRIL’S RESTAURANT PICK OF THE MONTH

LOCATED IN KILL DEVIL HILLS

The owners are awesome, the staff is wonderful, and the food is “oh so delicious”. A place the locals run to for food, to watch some good sports or just a happy hour drink & app.  We have a lot of favorites on this menu

TIP FOR THE MONTH

Do you own a vacation rental home?

Here are some tips to maximize your rental income.

✔️ Allow pets – this can increase your rental income by 20%

✔️ Offer short term stays in the off-season months – 2 or 3, 4 night stays

✔️ Ask for customer reviews – this can guide you in prioritizing your “to do list”

✔️ Offer something other rental homes do not have, such as:

luxury bedding  /  gourmet kitchen  /  firepit  /  shampoos, soap, conditioners

✔️ Make sure your house is “clean” inside & out

MID-CURRITUCK COUNTY BRIDGE UPDATE

The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) sued North Carolina Department of Transportation claiming they violated federal law in issuing a Record of Decision for the MID CURRITUCK BRIDGE.

February 23rd the U. S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit rejected the SELC lawsuit.

This has cleared the way for the next steps to be taken, however, we do know SELC is planning on asking for a rehearing.

We will keep you informed – Stay tuned!
