THE OUTER BANKS CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE “HOTTEST” FISHING SPOTS ON THE EAST COAST

Are you planning a fishing trip to the OBX?   If so, you need to check out Captain Marty for his daily fishing reports. Captain Marty’s fishing reports are a must for the fisherman on the Outer Banks.  Whether you fish in the surf, sound or offshore you will want to get the latest OBX fishing information.  See his daily schedule below. Marty posts some good fishing highlights on his Facebook wall as well; who knows maybe you will end up on it.

The weekday radio schedule for Captain Marty’s Fishing Reports is:

Beach 104 – WCXL

6:50a – Fishing Report

7:20a – The Other Side of Fishing

8:20a – Fishing Report

Water Country - 94.5 WCMS

Speaking of fishing, here’s a good catch

Angler reels in Sheepshead in Nags Head.

According to NC Aquarium, “these elusive fish use those big teeth to eat barnacles and other hard-shelled animals such as blue crabs”.

One of our very own, Jodi Powers-Bernhardt, has become known as the OBX MOSTLY SALAD CHEF!

Her Savory & Spectacular Salads have become the talk of the town.  She was kind enough to share the below recipe with us.  For more recipes follow her on Facebook @mostlysalads

Enjoy!  And, if you make this salad, please take a photo and tag Jodi on Facebook.  She would love that!

We all have many reasons we love traveling to our favorite beach towns.  We love the beach, jumping in the surf, water skiing, boating, fishing, shopping etc. What is your favorite reason?   One of my favorite reasons is to EAT.  I love all the seashore town snack foods, so for that reason I wanted to share some of my OBX fav’s.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The OBX, as well as most Resort towns across the country this year, is having a challenging time keeping their restaurants fully staffed.  For that reason, your favorite restaurant may be closed a few days during the week.  You may want to call the restaurant before heading over to make sure they are opened as I have found Google may not be up to date on their hours of operation.

Joe Albanese with Albanese Construction

252-202-1618

Looking to replace or add a deck to your home?  An outdoor shower?   We just did both and had a great experience with one of the OBX best!  There is nothing Joe Albanese cannot do, from adding a room to just giving your entryway a new look.

See our brand new outdoor shower pictured here.
