2020 was truly a year for the books!
Here’s a recap of how it all unfolded….
January: Off to a booming start. Sales were up 22% with inventory down 11%.
March: Due to Covid-19 the OBX bridges were shut down and only opened to permanent residence from mid-March to end of May. This meant for 10 weeks our buyers and seller could not make it into town to preview homes. Sales were up 7%, inventory down 13%
April: As expected, sales were down 23%, inventory is down 21%
June: In June we experience an exceptional increase in the number of listings placed under contract. Under Contract’s were up 108%
September: Records sales three months in a row! Sales are up 30% for the year and inventory is down 53%
December: BEST YEAR ON THE BOOKS since 2005. Sales were up 44% for the year; inventory down 58%. And, it looks like this trend will continue into 2021!

The History we find on the OBX
The minute I read this article written by Jeff Hampton with the Virginia Pilot, I knew I had to share it with you.
55 coins, some more than 2,000 years old, were found on Outer Banks beaches. A couple’s coin collection will one day help tell Outer Banks history of shipwrecks, explorers of long ago and pirate’s loot.
